AquaCity Poprad draws geothermal water from deep beneath the Poprad basin, using it for a spread of indoor and outdoor pools directly below the peaks of the High Tatras. The resort generates much of its own heat and power from the same geothermal source.

History

The resort was developed from the mid-2000s on the site of an older Poprad swimming complex, expanding around the geothermal wells drilled into the basin.

Practical information

Several pool zones are sold separately (family, "Blue Sapphire", saunas). Water temperatures vary by pool; the outdoor pools stay warm through winter.

Getting there

Poprad-Tatry has an airport and a mainline station on the Bratislava-Košice route; the resort is a few minutes from the station by taxi or on foot.
