Privacy & affiliate disclosure

Last updated: September 2026

Balnevia is an editorial guide to thermal baths and spas. This page explains what we collect, how the site is funded, and which third parties are involved.

Affiliate & sponsored links

Some links to tickets, hotels and experiences are affiliate links: if you book through them, Balnevia may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commercial links are always labelled, and no place is ever included, ranked or described more favourably because of a commercial arrangement.

Analytics

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service, to count page views and basic interactions such as searches and map use. It does not use advertising cookies and does not build personal profiles or follow you across other websites.

Advertising & consent

Some pages load advertising and consent-management scripts from our monetisation partner. Where required, you are asked for consent before any non-essential tracking runs, and you can change your choice at any time through the consent banner.

Contact & suggestion forms

When you write to us or suggest a thermal bath, we store the details you submit — such as your name, email address and message — so that we can reply and review the suggestion. This information is used for that purpose only and is never sold.

Third-party services

Balnevia relies on Supabase for its database, authentication and image storage, MapTiler for map tiles, and Stay22 for the nearby-hotel maps. These services may process technical data such as your IP address in order to deliver their part of the page.

Your data

You can ask what data we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it. Messages and suggestions are kept only as long as they remain useful for editorial work.
