History
Drilling for oil in 1983 found thermal water at 1,900 metres instead; the spa opened in 1999 and has expanded steadily.
Practical information
The Therme (thermal hall) and the Vitalotherme sauna area are separate tickets; the sauna area is textile-free.

Thirty minutes from Munich by S-Bahn S2 to Altenerding, then a shuttle bus.
