Sirmione occupies a narrow peninsula reaching into Lake Garda, guarded by the Scaligero castle and, at its end, the ruins of the Roman villa known as the Grotte di Catullo. The Boiola spring rises offshore and has fed the town's thermal establishments since the late 19th century.

Why visit

Aquaria's pools sit directly on the lake, so bathing in thermal water and looking at Garda are the same act. The water is sulphurous, salty and bromo-iodic, traditionally used for the airways.
