History
The springs were described by Pliny the Elder and used through the Roman period; the present bath buildings are largely eighteenth- and nineteenth-century, restored as a spa in the 2000s.
Practical information
Entry is timed and capacity-limited, so book ahead, especially in ski season. The circuit is a route through many small baths rather than one pool.
Getting there
About 5 minutes by car above Bormio on the Stelvio road; roughly 3h from Milan by car, or bus and train via Tirano.
