Vrnjačka Banja sits in central Serbia below the Goč mountain, a spa town of promenades, drinking pavilions and a river-side park. Seven mineral springs surface here, the warmest at close to body temperature.

History
The Romans built baths here, known as Aquae Orcinae. The modern spa dates from 1868, when the Founders' Society organised the springs, and the town flourished as a Serbian royal resort.

The springs are used mainly for drinking cures under medical supervision, with bathing and wellness at the hotels and the modern spa centre.
Getting there
About two and a half hours by road south of Belgrade, near Kraljevo.
