Luchon's sulphurous springs, used since Roman times, emerge hot enough to feed the Vaporarium — a gallery driven into the rock where naturally humid, warm air is inhaled rather than bathed in. It remains the resort's signature, alongside conventional thermal pools and treatment rooms in the nineteenth-century bath house at the head of the allées.
