The Ouray Hot Springs Pool sits at the northern end of Ouray, a former mining town enclosed on three sides by the San Juan Mountains. The large outdoor pool is divided into sections at different temperatures, all fed by odourless, sulphur-free mineral water.

The mountain wall rises directly above the water, and the pool stays open through the winter, when steam and snow meet at the pool edge.

History
The Ute people used the springs long before the mining era. The town developed the pool in 1927, and it was substantially rebuilt and expanded in 2017.
Practical information
Sections range from a hot soaking pool to a lap and activity pool; the water is naturally free of sulphur odour.

On US 550, the Million Dollar Highway, about an hour south of Montrose.
