Opened in 1906 and named for Empress Elisabeth, Lázně V is the largest surviving bathhouse in Karlovy Vary, with mineral baths, peat wraps, carbon-dioxide baths and a colonnaded pool hall.

History
Karlovy Vary was founded around its hot springs by Charles IV in the fourteenth century and became the definitive Central European spa town of the nineteenth.

Treatments are booked individually; the swimming pool can be visited without a full spa package.

Two hours by bus from Prague; the bathhouse sits in Smetana Gardens near the Mill Colonnade.
