Termas do Gerês sits in a steep granite valley in Vila do Gerês, within the Peneda-Gerês National Park. Its bicarbonate-sodium, fluoride-bearing water is used for drinking cures and hydrotherapy in a compact 19th-century spa quarter.

Historia
The springs have been used since Roman times and the present spa quarter took shape in the 19th century, when Gerês became one of northern Portugal's fashionable cure destinations.
