Saratoga Springs' effervescent mineral waters made it a nineteenth-century resort, and in the 1930s New York State built a Georgian revival spa complex around them. The Roosevelt Baths, opened in 1935, still offer private soaks in naturally carbonated water drawn from the park's own springs and warmed for bathing.

The bath is private and old-fashioned — a single deep tub of fizzing mineral water — inside a National Historic Landmark park with springs, pavilions and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.
