Jáchymov built its wealth on silver and later on uranium ore. In 1906 the town opened the world's first radon spa, using water rising from the Svornost mine — the same galleries that supplied the ore for Marie Curie's research.

Por que visitar

The setting is unlike any other European spa: a narrow mining valley, early twentieth-century sanatoria, and a treatment tradition built entirely around radon water drawn from a working historic mine.
