Drilling for hydrocarbons in the Innviertel found thermal water instead, at around 100 °C and more than two kilometres down. Therme Geinberg now cools and circulates it through a compact resort of pools, a Caribbean-themed hall and an extensive sauna village in the flat country near the Bavarian border.
