The springs at São Pedro do Sul rise at close to 69°C, the hottest in mainland Portugal, and feed two thermal establishments on the bank of the Vouga. The excavated Roman bath stands beside them.

歴史

The Romans built baths here in the first century AD. King Afonso Henriques convalesced at the springs in 1169, and Queen Amélia's visit in 1884 gave the main building its name.
