Zsóry's water was struck in 1939 during oil exploration on the Matyó plain: alkaline hydrocarbonate-chloride water containing iodine and bromine, recognised as medicinal for joint and rheumatic conditions. The bath has since grown into a large park of medicinal, adventure and open-air pools among poplars.
