Bathing at Cieplice is documented from the thirteenth century, making it the oldest thermal resort in Silesia; the springs rise at up to 44 °C beneath a Baroque spa quarter of colonnades and parkland now part of Jelenia Góra. The modern Termy Cieplice adds glazed indoor and outdoor thermal pools to the surviving cure buildings.
