Krauma was built in 2017 beside Deildartunguhver, the highest-flow hot spring in Europe, which delivers around 180 litres of 100 °C water per second. That boiling water is cooled only with cold water from a nearby glacial stream — nothing is added.

Pourquoi y aller
The proposition is purity and place: five pools and two steam rooms looking directly at the steaming spring, with no chemicals needed because the water is constantly replaced.

- Europe's highest-flow hot spring delivers about 180 litres per second at boiling point; cooled only with glacial stream water.
Histoire
Deildartunguhver has supplied hot water to the Borgarfjörður district for decades; the bathhouse opened in 2017 to make the spring publicly bathable for the first time.
Informations pratiques
Pools run at roughly 38–41 °C; there is a cold tub, two steam baths and a restaurant. Water is not recycled, so bathing is at natural mineral concentration.
Y aller
Krauma is about 90 minutes' drive north of Reykjavík on Route 1 then Route 50, close to Reykholt and the Hraunfossar waterfalls.
