Karahayıt sits just north of Pamukkale, where its springs deposit iron oxide rather than white travertine, building small rust-coloured formations known locally as the Red Water. The village grew around thermal hotels drawing on the same field, and a public spring area sits at its centre.

Pourquoi y aller

Visit for the colour contrast with Pamukkale's white terraces — the two fields lie within a few kilometres of each other and of the ruins of Hierapolis.
