Istarske Toplice lies in the Mirna valley of inland Istria, directly under a sheer limestone wall. Warm sulphurous water emerges at the foot of the cliff, where it has been channelled into baths since antiquity.

Histoire
The springs were used in Roman times and were developed as a formal bathing establishment under Austrian rule in the nineteenth century.
