Below the village of Bagni San Filippo, hot sulphurous water runs through a wooded gorge and has built up a huge white limestone formation known as the Fosso Bianco, or "White Whale". Bathers use the natural terraced pools formed along the stream, which cool gradually as they move away from the source.
