Bad Schinznach's spring, tapped in 1658 beside the Aare, delivers water considered the most highly mineralised sulphur water in Switzerland, warm and heavy with hydrogen sulphide. It feeds the Thermalbad's indoor and outdoor pools and a long-established rheumatology clinic beneath the Habsburg castle hill.
