Trenčianske Teplice sits in a narrow wooded valley where sulphurous thermal water rises at close to 40 °C. Its landmark is the Hammam, an 1888 bath in Moorish revival style with horseshoe arches and coloured glass, still in use alongside modern pools and mud treatments.
