Therme Wien lies at Oberlaa on the southern edge of Vienna, fed by sulphurous thermal water tapped in the 1930s during exploratory drilling. The present building, opened in 2010, replaced the 1974 Kurzentrum with a wide, low complex of indoor and outdoor pools set against the Kurpark.
