Rimske Terme lies in the narrow Sava valley at Rimske Toplice, where springs deliver water at roughly 38–42°C. Restored nineteenth-century villas stand around indoor and outdoor thermal pools cut into the hillside.

Historia
The Romans used these springs, hence the name; the modern resort took shape in the nineteenth century and drew Habsburg court visitors, including Empress Elisabeth.

About 1h15 by car from Ljubljana; Rimske Toplice has its own railway station on the Zidani Most–Celje line.
