Borjomi's naturally carbonated, salty-mineral water was bottled from 1890 for the Russian imperial court and remains Georgia's best-known export. In the wooded park at the head of the town it is drunk warm from the source pavilion, with a warm sulphurous open-air pool a short walk further up the gorge.
